We offer multiple tests to meet the varied needs of different individuals with different physiology and different goals. After we learn your health history and activity level we will determine what is the best investment of your time and money.
Testing procedures will reveal your individual:
- VO2 Max
- Aerobic Threshold
- Anaerobic Threshold
- Target Heart Rate Training Zones
- Target Power Training Zones (optional)
- Rate of Recovery
- Data Analysis & Relationship-based follow-up
With the optional Resting Metabolic Rate test you will learn:
- Daily Calorie Requirements
- Calorie Guidelines for your Lifestyle and Level of Activity
- Effective Weight Management Information
Assesment Options:
Standard (AeT / AT / VO2) (Bike or Run) - This test determines anaerobic (AT) threshold and peak VO2; AT is basically defined as the point where your body turns from a fat burning machine to a carbohydrate burning machine. AT is also the point where your body's uptake of oxygen is exceeded by the production of CO2. This test also determines Aerobic Threshold (AeT) which is at this point where one is at peak aerobic efficiency. These numbers will tell you the point at which the body is burning more stored fats as fuel and the point at which it is using mostly glycogen, or sugar, for fuel and are more precise and personal than what you can get from a generic calculation or traditional heart rate zone chart. VO2 Max is the amount of oxygen a person can consume (in milliliters) per minute. This number tells you how efficiently your body works and what potential you have, with training, to improve your performance. A premier athlete will have a VO2 max number probably in the 70-80 range. The average person has something more in the 30-40 range. With proper training anyone can raise their athletic potential by raising their VO2 max number.
- Time - 1 hour
- Price- $170
- add steady state analysis - $125
Resting Metabolic Rate - This test determines the calories your body burns at rest within a 24 hour period. This number enables you to figure out how much fuel or calories you need to consume in order to achieve your goals. Those goals could be losing weight, feeling stronger at the end of a race or training session or fueling your next event.
- Price- $125
Standard + Resting Metabolic Rate (Bike or Run) - This test determines the calories utilized within a 24 hour period. Coupled with the AeT / AT / VO2 test an athlete will know exactly how many calories are needed in a day to keep the engine properly fueled, rested and ready for peak performance.
- Time - 1 hour
- Price- $250 (includes Standard AeT / AT / VO2 test)
- add steady state analysis - $125 (add 30 mins)
Standard + Power (Bike) - This test determines individual power training zones as they relate to physiological threshold, and will allow athletes to focus power training.
- Time - 1 hour
- Price- $250 (includes Standard AeT / AT / VO2 test)
- add watts analysis - $100
- add steady state analysis - $125 (add 30 mins)
Comprehensive Test (Bike or Run) - includes Standard AeT / AT / VO2, Resting Metabolic Rate and Power Training Zones. Recommended assesment if you posses a power meter or plan on getting one in the near future.
- Time - 2.5 hours
- Price- $350
- add watts analysis - $100
- add steady state analysis - $125
Steady State Analysis - Some athletes like to know at what RPM, cadence or workload they perform best at. After a recent AeT/AT test has been done this can be added on to a testing session.
- Time - 30 mins
- Price: $125 added on to above packages
